Can foreigners buy property in Hakuba?

Yes, any foreign national can legally purchase real estate in Japan without restriction. Permanent residency status is not required and the transfer of title is straight forward.

Have there been other foreign investments in Hakuba?

Is it possible for foreigners to obtain financing via a Japanese bank?

It is extremely difficult for foreigners to obtain financing through a Japanese bank, particularly without permanent residency.

Foreigners can build with no limitations as long as strict local building regulations are followed.
